Brief Introduction
Suzhou Concrete and Cement Products Research Institute is a comprehensive scientific research organization engaged in the researches, exploitations of new technology and new products and concrete products, house building materials and elements, designs of manufacturing technologies and complete sets of equipment for concrete and concrete products, house building materials and elements, architectural decorating and finishing materials and chemical building materials. It undertakes the responsibility of “National Concrete and Concrete Products Quality Control, Inspection and Test Centre” (including waterreducing agent for concrete). It is also in charge of the Secretariat of National Concrete Products Standardization Technology Committee.
There are 40 staff members in the institute now, in which more than 70% is engineers and technicians (including 129 senior engineers), who are scattered in more than 40 specialities, forming a perfect specialized structure. Nowadays the institute sets up 4 research departments, an information research and personal training centre, an energy-saving service centre for concrete products subordinated to State Administration of Building Materials Industry Industry, A design department named Suzhou Building and Materials Design Institute and an industrial company of science and technology. The institute possesses various well equipped laboratories for concrete, fibre reinforced cement composites, concrete admixtures, physicalochemistry etc, and workshops for concrete products technologies, full-scale structure tests etc.
Besides undertaking scientific research projects assigned by State, averagely the institute also carries out more than 100 projects annually as to scientific research, exploitations of new technologies and new products, engineering designs, tests, scientific and technological advisories as well as transfer of technological achievements, which are entrusted by enterprises. The institute gives technological aid to the industrial enterprises in this filed all over the country. Since China carries out reforms and open-to-outside-world for thirty years, the institute is crowned with more than 150 scientific research achievements, among which more than 90 achievements were rewarded by ministry and province in China.
